Because we know the right algorithm begins with the right problem statement, we start with a complete physical-based statistical description. When crafting each solution to a client’s problem, we draw on our broad knowledge and experience base to approach the algorithm from diverse perspectives.
We begin by talking with our customers to thoroughly understand the problem from their perspective, defining our algorithm requirements in terms of the client’s needs. We even help our customers invent new metrics for how to determine the effectiveness of a solution, adapting as needs become better defined and understood. And most importantly, we try to work the word “metrics” into conversation whenever possible. It just sounds cool.
A strong focus on prototype development means that we can rapidly pull together candidate solutions that are easily transitioned to our software developers. Numerica algorithm development teams have a good knowledge of software, ensuring a smooth transition from prototype into production code.
